Information about the REAL ID

 

Starting May 7, 2025, travelers aged 18 and older will need a REAL ID-compliant document to fly domestically. Acceptable documents include state-issued driver's license or ID cards with the REAL ID marking (a star or similar), or alternative forms of identification like a valid passport.

 

To get a REAL ID, you must visit your local DMV and provide the documents required for this. It can take about 2 weeks or 15 business days to process this. Plan now to get your REAL ID if you want to fly domestically.

Helsinki Canal Cruise

On this Helsinki canal cruise, you will get to see the most beautiful shorelines in Helsinki and motor past many fabulous sights, including the historic Suomenlinna Maritime Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site that dates from 1748. You will view Korkeasaari Island, which has been a recreational park since 1569, and is now home to the Helsinki Zoo.

As you proceed on the canal cruise, you will also view the impressive fleet of icebreakers and travel along the breathtaking Degero Canal. Available for purchase at the cafe on board are refreshments, drinks, beer, sparkling wine, coffee and pastries. Hear about Helsinki's interesting history and discover its most significant landmarks while on the cruise. Narration is pre-recorded in English, German, Russian and Finnish. Written information is available in Swedish, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese.

Please Note: The tour leaves from a location in central Helsinki, not from the cruise pier. Transfers to and from the pier are not included in the tour price.
