When you arrive at your destination, you will share this adventure with 80 Alaskan huskies and hear unique personal accounts of the Iditarod and backcountry experiences, and have an opportunity to ask questions. Time on the glacier is approximately 60 minutes, which includes an orientation to dog sledding and taking turns on a dog sled ride. Flight time and time on the glacier may vary depending on weather and glacier conditions. Transfer time from the pier to the heliport is approximately 45 minutes each way.

Your helicopter flight will take you over the spectacular rock formations and icefalls of the Juneau Icefield as it heads towards the Herbert Glacier and your knowledgeable pilot-guide will provide expert narration and time to answer questions. You will land on the lower level of the glacier, where the glacial activity is especially pronounced. Features such as moulins, crevasses, moraines, and ice falls all occur at this level of the glacier. During this Juneau excursion, your pilot will be your guide, highlighting natural features and escorting you on an informative, relaxing walk while describing the area that surrounds you.
